Suman Lal, MD, PhD, MSc, MBA

Suman is the Head of Innovation at Zero-to-One, a technology commercialization firm that he founded in 2021. He is also a partner at Captains of Innovation, the  consulting division of Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) that operates innovation campuses around the world.

Suman has extensive experience in technology commercialization and has worked with major universities to license and commercialize intellectual property. He also has experience in the venture creation space, having founded two venture studios that built companies in the areas of cosmetics, food and nutrition, digital health, and biotech. He has worked in the innovation hubs of Singapore, New York City, and Boston.

Suman has an MD in clinical medicine and an MSc in human genetics, and he completed his PhD in personalizing chemotherapy regimens in breast cancer patients based on their genetic constitution. He attended MIT as a Sloan Fellow, receiving his MBA with a focus on innovation and global leadership.

Taren Grom

Taren co-founded PharmaVoice, a life-sciences industry-based multimedia company, in 2001 with the goal to provide a forum for thought leaders to exchange ideas, business strategies, and insights on the current trends and the future trajectory of health care and its intersecting verticals. Taren was a key driver of building the PharmaVoice 100 community, including the Red Jacket Hall of Fame, the Woman of the Week (WoW) podcast, and other influential media engagements, including print, video, audio, and virtual and in-person events.

Over the course of 25 years covering and reporting on the life sciences ecosystem, Taren has conducted thousands of interviews with and built a network among C-suite executives, industry influencers, innovators, and entrepreneurs, giving her a unique understanding of the market factors influencing all aspects of the industry. PharmaVoice was purchased by Industry Dive in 2021.
